New Feature - GMAT Club Native Error Log Functionality!

How to use it?

1. Now, with every question of Quant or Verbal, you will see "Add Notes" functionality as shown below:

2. Click on Add Notes and add whatever mistake you did as shown below:

3. Once you click on "Save", "Add Notes" will be changed to "My Notes". You can click on the same to modify any notes you want!

4. Now, you can see your Error Log by clicking on ANY one of the options shown below:

a) By Choosing the option from the Task bar at the top:



b) By going to your profile and choosing the error log:



c) By directly clicking on Error Log in the timer against a question:

5. You will be redirected to the Error Log that you created:

What extra features you can take advantage of?

1. Filter your Error Log based on Forum name
2. Filter your Error Log based on difficulty
3. Filter your Error Log based on All Correct/Incorrect/Unanswered
4. Filter your Error Log based on Date Range
5. Filter your Error Log based on Sources
6. Download your Error Log in an excel format. You will see well prepared Excel as shown below. Use it to keep track of your mistakes offline. All Incorrect answers will be marked in a different color and the questions in which you took more than 2 minutes will be marked in Red Text.

Thanks GC for the new features-how do I get my projected score like before clicking on workbook? Also, any other way to check the qs done today apart from date range-can we just have the date filter back ?

Nice development.

However, I have some opinions.

1. I am skeptical about the inclusion of 'Official Answer' in 'My Error Log'. I think the benefit of this option is outweighed by the negative outcome of this option. For example, I come to know the OA beforehand while retaking the incorrect question from error log. This will ultimately hamper my practice of questions bank from Error Log. In the same way, 'My Notes' should be hidden in the Error Log so that I can't see my previous notes before taking the question.

2. It seems the 'My Error Log' is missing the option of 'sort by date taken', which was available in previous version. I think this is necessary. For instance, I have a bunch questions in my error log, which I got wrong. After some days I want to retake those questions. I want to attempt questions from oldest to latest. In this new version, it seems not possible.

3. As the name, 'My Error Log', suggests, it is the log report of my ERROR. But in actually it is not only a log report of ERROR but also a log report of CORRECT. So, I think the name should be different such as 'My Log Book', 'My Workbook', 'My Practice Log' or anything like this.

Thank you for your feedback. Here are my inputs:

1. I think Error log should have an official answer in it as well as the notes section. One can always hide those columns by using excel version before starting the revision.

2. We will take care of Date as a part of subsequent releases.

3. Again, it depends on your perspective. We had a long discussion on this and then we later decided to include/track all the attempted questions. We are not only highlighting wrong answers but also changing the text of time of correct answers whenever the time crosses 2 min mark. Error Log is a very effective name compared to other names you suggested (we already had such names before but the effect has been subtle.).

Is it possible to set options for viewing 'My Error Log' with or without 'Official Answer', and 'My Notes' etc. in 'Error Log Settings' or just in between the list and the 'My Error Log' so that users can enjoy more flexibility to generate Error Log?

A log is a great feature and I'm sure this will encourage members to post more questions just to keep their logs complete. As far as suggestions, the hide/reveal for OA and notes is a good idea.
Also, a filter based on categories and subcategories is a very productive tool. You could, for example, review all the verb tense errors you have ever made in the last week.

The "My Notes" feature is only available on the first page of discussion. So, if there are more than 1 page discussion, everytime I have to go to the first page to add the points. It may happen that I can get some valuable inputs on any page of the Discussion. So, if you can add "My Notes" feature on every page of Discussion it would be great.

Currently, "Add Notes" feature is available next to timer only when a user attempts a particular question.
